WOMEN on MISSION in 2011 to Nicaragua
On March 31, 2011, a group of ladies will be leaving to go minister to the English speaking missionaries in Managua, Nicaragua. Their ministry & outreach to these missionaries is to lead them in a retreat for a renewal both physically and spiritually. Please pray for Jennifer Speer, Lynn Westifor, Carol Savani, Keri Campbell, Terrie George, Christy Null, & Laura Duckworth as they go and minister to the missionaries of Nicaragua.
Please be in prayer with the ladies as they minister and you may also be a mart of this ministry by donating items for gift baskets.
Suggestions are Taco seasoning packets, Chili seasoning packets, Any other spices packets such as meatloaf, spaghetti, etc.
Chocolate Chips for baking, chip clips, bookmarks, refrigerator maganets, cosemtics, nail files and polish, lotions(hotel or trial sizes),
pens, notepads, combs, barrettes, hair clips, etc.

In April, Cobden First Baptist Church "Women of Grace" returned from Nicaragua after ministering to the English speaking missionaries in Managua, Nicaragua. CCBA is sponsoring a week long project working with the Food Pantry, Home Maintenance & Repairs, Witnessing, and Backyard Bible Clubs.
Deadline to Sign up is April 11, 2011. the trip is for Adults and youth who have at least completed the 7th grade.

Please sign up to work at the Distribution site at FBC-Cobden.
Other Churches and groups will be bringing in their shoe boxes to FBC-Cobden also.
B-men are scheduled to take all of the shoe boxes to the Paducah Distribution Site.
OCTOBER
October 31 Trunk or Treat in the church Parking lot~Be a part of this outreach by bringing candy
for others to pass out or bring your car and a trunk filled with candy for you to pass out in the
Church parking lot. There will be lots of kids, lots of candy, and lots of fun for all.
"Free" for the kids.....Slide/Jump Houses will also be on the Church parking lot.
October 16 Hispanic Movie Night at downtown park. See Robert Cruz or Charlotte Hartline for more details or to help with the event.

Ladies of FBC will be going to Carmi Childrens Home to help with registration at the Fall Festival.
Ladies of FBC have also donated a quilt to be auctioned at the Festival for their fundraiser.

No Church or Church activities scheduled on August 8. Enjoy your family and friends this weekend.
August 15 "Block Party" down town Cobden--Reaching out to all the people in Cobden
and the surrounding community plus reaching out to the Hispanic community.

Please continue to give through "PLANNED MISSION GIVING" and be a part of the "Great Commission". If you are not able to "GO", you can give so others can "GO".
The Great Commission-
Go therefore, and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always,
even unto the end of the age. Amen

How can I pray for missions, effectively, you may ask...you might want to try these examples: (1) "Lord, will you keep our missionaries free from illness today?" (2) "Father, please guard our missionaries from discouragement." (3) "I pray for the extended family members of our missionaries back home. Help them show their love and support across the miles." (4) "Father God, we pray that you will help all missionary children to be well adjusted, to find ethical, moral friends, and to be successful as they grow in knowledge at school or at home." or perhaps, (5) "Please give our missionaries happy family times together."
